Some Telegram meme contests seriously need to fix their judging. You tell people to smash community raids, stay active, contribute, and make quality memes. Then when it’s time to pick winners, someone who barely even exists in the community gets selected while genuinely active members with stronger memes get ignored. I literally watched this happen today. One selected meme wasn’t even close to the quality of some of the entries, and the person wasn’t active in the Telegram community. Another participant even had their meme quoted by the dev on X, yet still didn’t get picked. So what exactly are we being judged on? If the criteria are quality + community activity, judge by those criteria. Don’t make people spend hours creating, raiding and supporting a project just to make the judging criteria meaningless. Building CrabStar is just like working the commercial crab fishing boat. Not many people could even comprehend the pace we worked at out there. Guys came aboard saying "I can do this no problem, I watched the crab fishing show on TV" and folded like a cheap tent partway through trip #1. We brought that same work ethic to this project. Watching from the outside never does justice to the work actually being done. The TV show didn't for the boat, and a timeline doesn't for this. None of that matters though. Nobody needs to see the grind to understand the gravity of what we built once it comes to light. It's the same reason people call things an "overnight success." They didn't see anything happening until it blew up, so to them it happened overnight.
