Florida Professional Firefighters President Wayne "Bernie" Bernoska Commissioner Wilton Simpson has been a strong and consistent supporter of Florida’s firefighters, including the men and women of the Florida Forest Service who protect our communities from wildfires and other emergencies. Under his leadership. Florida has continued investing in the equipment, personnel, and resources these firefighters need to do their jobs safely and effectively. We are proud to endorse Commissioner Simpson for reelection and look forward to continuing our work together.

Governor Ron DeSantis signed the state budget this week and I am please to report the Rural and Family Lands Protection Program received $425 million to support its unprecedented efforts to save Florida’s working farms and ranches — and the Florida Wildlife Corridor — from development. Since its inception, the Rural and Family Lands Protection Program has permanently preserved over 224,000 acres of working agricultural land from development, with over 168,000 acres preserved since I first became Commissioner.

🚨Gas Station Morphine Update: We have removed 17,311 packages of isolated and/or concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) from retail locations in more than 20 Florida counties. Since the emergency rule classifying these as a Schedule I controlled substance took effect, FDACS inspectors have been on the front lines working every day to get these dangerous, illegal products off the shelves. These ‘wellness’ products are nothing more than vape shop morphine, and we will continue using every tool at our disposal to educate and protect families, and make sure these products have no place in our communities.
