On Achane injury - My heart breaks for the guy. Talk about him as a great player but since I’ve gotten to know him, watching him grow and develop, earning the captain role, being such a great teammate. I love his energy, his enthusiasm, his attitude. The growth from him as a person, I think his temmates felt it and I felt it.

Jordan Phillips looked damn good on tape yesterday. He even got some work outside playing some 4 and 4i - thought his extension, power, and gap control were all solid. He's set a hard edge, lock out, get eyes on the back then work back over the top. Big part of Miami's 3.5 YPC allowed vs. the run this year, 4th in the NFL.

I think if you look at the offensive tape with the mindset of grading the flashes you come away pretty impressed. Offense racked up 8 explosive plays (pass of 15+, runs of 10+). But within some little details - a snap that Malik has to corral, penalties on the plus side of the field, ball security, reading out coverage leverage a little sharper - that's the difference in finishing some of these drives. There's talent, and it's bubbling to the surface more each week. The trajectory right now is weekly improvement and if it stays that way, I'm excited to see this product develop and mature. There's a lot to work with, but it's still the youngest team in football working out some of those kinks.

Aaron Brewer is awesome every week in just about everything he does, but what I love the most is the way he hustles. On Chris Bell's 44-yard catch and run Brew SPRINTS down there to give CB a hand up immediately after he's tackled. He started 20 yards behind the play.

I raved on the pod about how Bobby Slowik used Chris Bell on stacks to lift press coverage, but even when he wasn't the point man in a stack, he forces DBs to draw their hands early and just play through it. His play strength is going to be a big boon on 3rd and short/medium - it already is.

Continue to see more and more from Kadyn Proctor every week. He's unfurling the size/athelticism combo on plenty of knockdown blocks. He's key at the point of attack of many big runs, and then he's growing rapidly in picking up rush games in pass pro. Huge arrow up game IMO.

That's a great job setting the pocket and giving Willis an escape hatch by the OL there.
Willis is off again on a 3rd down scramble and it'll move the chains.

A Malik scramble, followed by a sneak, moves the chains for Miami. That's 37 yards on the ground for Willis today, as he ties Gordon for the team lead.

Great bounce back play there from Gay to get on the upfield shoulder of that little swing and making Walker stop his feet as the calvary arrives for a 6 yard loss.

Willis with another dot, this one to Bell and it moves the sticks. They've been using Chris Bell as the point man out of stacks to free up other guys - this time he just beats the No. 6 pick in the draft to move the sticks.

Loving this plan from Bobby Slowik - another pretty easy pitch and catch there for Willis to Miller to move the stick n 3rd down. Running off the coverage and trailing the clearout route.

Jacob Rodriguez! Whew buddy. He wins the 1v1 matchup with Walker in the gap and BURIES him for the TFL.

Josh Uche rips into the backfield to stack that play up AND the Chiefs are hit with a hands to the face call to open this drive. Dolphins get a chance here with the Chiefs behind the sticks.

The Dolphins are in with a hell of an effort from Malik Washington after the catch, but it's an illegal shift and that'll negate the score and back up Miami.

Ollie Gordon makes the catch of the game taking it down off the rim and then bowling through the Chiefs defense for 19 and a first down.

ANOTHER explosive - Malik bombs one to Greg Dulcich who makes a hell of and adjustment and reels it in for a gain of 42.

The Dolphins open the second half with heavy personnel (Caedan Wallace the 6th man) in I-formation.
