Construction is nearly complete along WIS 130 in Lone Rock to improve safety. Between US 14 and the Wisconsin River, crews are updating curb ramps and milling off 3.5 inches of pavement and repaving. The project is scheduled for completion in early October. #WorkingForYou

➡️Forward-facing car seat with harness: until children are four years old and weigh 40 pounds. ➡️Booster seat: until children are eight years old or weigh 80 pounds or are 4’9”. ➡️Seat belt: Keep children in booster seats until they are big enough to fit in a seat belt properly.

Because trains cannot make sudden stops, drivers and pedestrians should be extra vigilant when approaching railroad tracks to prevent serious crashes or injuries: ❌ Never stop on tracks. ✅ Obey all signs, signals, and gates.

SAFETY SUCCESS: Various improvements along a portion of WIS 164 in Washington County resulted in a reduction in injury crashes. Crews widened the lanes and shoulders of WIS 164 between County Q and County E, and added rumble strips and turn lanes.

The @wistatepatrol is teaming up with the Wisconsin School Bus Association to educate motorists about the dangers of illegally passing school buses with their red lights flashing. Passing a school bus illegally is extremely dangerous as it endangers the lives of students.

Reconstruction work on the I-43 Rock Freeway in Waukesha County is in full swing to improve safety. Among other work, crews are replacing the entire I-43 pavement structure between WIS 83 in Mukwonago and WIS 164. Work is scheduled for completion in summer 2028. #WorkingForYou

Work also includes resurfacing the pavement, adding auxiliary lanes from Capitol Drive to Hampton Avenue and from Burleigh Street to Capitol Drive, and more. The northern project between Silver Spring Drive and Good Hope Road is still ongoing and scheduled for completion in 2027.
