🚨 BRYNTEG, WREXHAM 🚨
Community House (Meet N Eat), Darby Road, Brynteg, Wrexham.
Planning Application Reference: PP-15050431
A planning application was submitted just over three weeks ago on 2nd July 2026 for a change of use at this building from its previous A3/B1 use (café / office) to C3 (Dwellinghouse).
C3 status means the property would become a residential dwelling house. Once a property has C3 use, it becomes much easier for a landlord or operator to apply for a further change of use to a HMO.
This is a sequence that has already been used repeatedly across the UK by the Home Office. We are not saying this is the intended use here, but it is a well-established pattern.
Important note:
This building is still owned by Wrexham Council Housing Services. A private individual has already applied to change it to residential use before any public sale or disposal process appears to have taken place.
Residents are entitled to ask how and why this is happening, and what the intended end use of the building will be once residential status is secured?
Today, we have formally written to Wrexham Council Planning Enforcement and Public Protection regarding the property on Darby Road (planning application P/2026/0435).
The application states that the building is currently empty and unused.
However, photographs received today (27 July 2026) show the opposite.
Upper-floor windows are open, with curtains and personal belongings visible inside, and multiple vehicles are parked on the site.
Local residents have also reported ongoing activity which appears to show people already living there.
If people are already living in the building, they are doing so without planning permission and therefore ILLEGALLY.
And they won’t even be paying Council Tax.
We have asked
@wrexhamcbc to investigate as a matter of urgency and we will publish their response on our page.
Thank you to the people who made us aware of this situation so we could look into it further.
