With all the new people entering Diamond, what better time than now to revisit what the protocol is, the doors it opens, and where we go from here? Let's get into it! Diamond is a platform that allows anybody and everybody to create their own on-chain hedge fund or ETF-based index— these two products are both fully composable and modular meaning that any on-chain asset can be used as a component. On-chain fund managers are able to accept deposits into their vault and then they have full authority to trade within the vault but never out of it. Diamond's custom-built V2 contracts have safety guardrails that allow the managers to change assets but never the owner of the assets. Depositors hold shares representing their slice of the fund in the form of a vault-specific token minted directly to their wallet and priced against its real live value. Redeem whenever you want and receive your pro-rata slice directly on-chain. No permission needed, no queue, no manager approval. Trading is gasless for managers. Sign once and Diamond's keeper service submits the trade and pays for the gas. Index baskets take the opposite approach: rules instead of discretion. Rather than backing a manager's judgment, depositors can back a thesis. A creator defines a set of tokens and the weight each should hold— perhaps 30% here and 40% there— and Diamond's backend engine keeps the basket at those targets autonomously. No one is making calls day to day, the allocation is the product. The rebalancing runs itself. As prices move and weights drift, the protocol trades the basket backwards and forwards towards its targets, so the index keeps tracking what it was designed to without any oversight. Same guarantee as funds with Diamond's V2 contract guardrails: no withdrawal is possible for the manager. And this is where it gets genuinely new. In traditional markets, an index is bounded by its venue. An equity ETF holds equities. A commodity fund holds commodities. This decision wasn't made by an ideal but rather due to a lack of plumbing infrastructure that couldn't connect the two. They each have different custodians, different clearing and different systems that were built in separate buildings and didn't allow the asset classes to talk to each other. On-chain, they're all just tokens in the same vault. For the first time, you can build a product composed of stocks, memes and utility tokens together and have it work as a singular congregated instrument with one price, one share and one redemption. Not a fund-of-funds, not three accounts requiring rebalancing by hand; one basket. This unlocks a concept that previously had zero vehicle prior: completely new themes and product capacities. An AI exposure basket can now contain NVDA alongside the compute and inference tokens being used. A consumer attention index tracking ad platforms and the memes competing within the same attention economy. A barbell composed of blue-chip equities as ballast and high-beta memes for convexity. All in a singular product. The friction killed these concepts before coming to fruition and Diamond eliminates that friction. Burn $DMND to create a product or deposit into favorable one. I’m a big fan of $DMND and have been holding since Day 1. It’s a similar concept to $GURU, managed baskets that anyone can buy into and cash out anytime. It also allows the trading of stocks and not just crypto, so there’s plenty of scope to vary trading. @DMNDBasket is currently trading around $50k mc and is criminally undervalued. These mirror trading setups, featuring natively integrated TradingView charts, wallet distribution analytics, and direct trade execution capabilities right from the interface. We added robust frontend handling for media, including IPFS image resolution and token avatar, ensuring the UI stays clean. We also baked in hover to deploy interactions directly on every live pair for rapid execution.
