Went to a home dinner last night hosted by Steven and Norika. They started these dinners so that foreigners traveling or working in China can get a little taste of the “real thing” — what Chinese people actually make, eat, and talk about at home.
None of us knew each other before, but somehow we ended up talking for 3+ hours — from travel adventures, to fighting back “PUA” 😂, to the weirdest comment we’ve received on social media.
I started posting videos on instagram 2 months ago, initially just wanting to put my thoughts out into the world. One surprise I never expected was that by making myself visible, people who resonate with those thoughts started finding me.
And that’s actually how I met Steven and Norika. They came across my account and invited me over.
And there we were - a Sunday night around a dinner table, with heart-warming home-cooked food and great company.
These little real-world human connections will be one of those nudges that keep me going :)
