Which candidate for governor in Michigan is promising to cut the government? Not just the waste fraud and abuse, but cut government spending? Anyone? The budget is $80+ billion. What could be cut?
Michigan has ~47,000 full time State employees. How would you rate government services they provide? I'd rate it pretty darn low.
So how much do employees make annually, on average?
Avg. Michigan State employee - $79,500
Avg. Michigan County employee - $74,000
Avg. Joe in Michigan - $58,000
Why do government workers make 35% more money while providing lousy service? I'd love to hear a candidate for governor talking about cutting government staffing. There's so many more opportunities to cut spending, why is no one talking about it?
