The Big Beautiful Bill provided funding for DHS to expand housing for illegal aliens facing deportations. Under former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, 11 detention facilities were purchased. Under Secretary Markwanye Mullin, 7 of those 11 have been sold or reallocated for purposes. Mass deportations aren’t happening because Mullin is standing in the way.

Wilber Rafael Garces Perez evaded an ICE agent on a long, high-speed pursuit, forced the agent to pin his vehicle to get him to stop, and then continued to drive off before being shot. His lawyer claims he was in the country legally and had a work permit. A work permit is an Employment Authorization Document. USCIS policy is clear that approving Form I-765 does not grant an alien immigration status. It only authorizes work. ICE says he had a final order of removal. Given that Garces Perez fled and was willing to go to great lengths to avoid being detained from a vehicle he obviously knew was ICE, he most assuredly was in the country illegally. More information confirming this will be released shortly. I’m sure of it. When it is proven he was in the country illegally, @DoorDash should be charged for hiring illegal aliens. This isn't the first time.
