I am running the R2 on my ”epa" efficiency loop tomorrow. Blazer EV was 27 kWh or 3 mi/kWh. Model 3 was 23 kWh, 3.6 mi/kWh, EV6 was 25 kWh or 3.3 mi/kWh. 82 mile test. Plug power is by far the best way to measure efficiency as the car trip computer can lie, but need low idle time.

Proud of my wife, she drove the R2 below 20% without charging, ending her trip at 10%. We can make use of only cheap overnight electricity to charge it instead of expensive DCFC. This is what I love about EVs. Pretty rare to need DCFC unless on longer trips.

Not bad efficiency in the R2, this is with like 2 second 0-30 every stop :) Not even trying accelerating hard and it launches like a rocket. A smooth rocket. I have never driven such a fast car, and it does it with absolutely zero fuss. Still exceeded EPA (low speed)

Happy Wednesday. You know what today means, right? Get out and lift heavy things day. Like everyday.

Derating was specifically from starting with a hot pack from the road trip in the R2. With a cool pack there was no issue with the A2z adapter. I usually don't charge right after a road trip, I plug in and the car charges overnight at cheap rates. I will monitor the situation.

Should I take the slow way or the fast way? A question I ask myself frequently with an EV. In this case I save a minute to take the high speed no traffic route, was it worth it? Probably not at twice the energy consumption in the R2. I love the data from @RivianRoamer

I wonder if @Tesla realizes this is a big part of the reason I no longer have a Tesla? I had paid $1000 down for my CT already and then this came out. You can imagine what this did to my wait time. Needless to say, I didn't take delivery of it.

My experience with buying a Tesla vs Rivian. Both were straight forward at order and pickup time. For Cybertruck? Never made it to delivery. Tesla: you should get that reservation number 1400 Cybertruck in Mar, 2024 that you ordered week 1 of orders. Tesla: On second thought, we are going to let influences skip ahead of you even though you already paid $1000. Rivian: R2, you get to order and take delivery within 3 months of production start, and we will under promise and over deliver instead of lying to get you to commit to an order we won't fill on schedule Just my thoughts. My experience with Rivian has been much better than with Tesla. Even my Model 3, So much confusion, one person said they would deliver to my house, so I bought an inventory car, but they made a new one anyway so took 5 weeks instead of days, then when it came time to deliver it I had to go drive 4 hours to pick it up. I had to babysit my advisor through the entire process to make sure everything was in order. None of this was a problem, but would have been great to know this up front. Trade in was a hassle too, and so slow over all process that it had devalued significantly. Zero issues with the Rivian process.
