It's basically ~standard terminology though? We've been talking about how AGI ("Artificial General Intelligence") would lead to ASI ("Artificial Super Intelligence") for a decade. Just drop the Artificial ("redundant, cleaner") and you're there :)

this is worded very eloquently. optimally, i'd love to see all the infighting cease, and have different projects/networks explore boundaries together. if you want to explore the exponential, you can't get caught in the binary; we're all looking for the best way out of the box.

All the discussion about shielded bitcoin is awesome. True Privacy should be normal. But trying to explain that to a hardcore bitcoiner just result in "don't shill me shitcoins!" resentment. This paper opens up the discussion so that even them can start looking deeper into the topic without "loosing the path of pure bitcoin". And many will understand the importance and benefits of privacy in the way. Now I do believe that this shielded bitcoin approach will not be ready for production anytime soon. And bitcoin won't adopt it. And it's technology wise inferior to zcash. But I truly celebrate any step toward wider adoption of true privacy.

The fight that made Zcash possible

Say what you will about Windows (OS), but the NT kernel really is an engineering marvel that still puts Linux to shame in many ways. The quickest way to describe it for a programmer, is NT was more like an object-oriented language, with a strong security model from day one, whereas Linux is very…not. A lot of the “good” features in Linux feel bolted-on (SELinux, Capabilities, Namespaces) because…well they were. I love to imagine an alternate history where NT won. IMO, Microsoft *should* have made an “Open NT” in the early 2000s; not fully GPL-style open, but one where a large org could say…swap out a memory allocator for their own. (they sorta did this with limited source access, but it was too restrictive) You could imagine say…an early Amazon forking OpenNT to create an “AmazonNT” for EC2, where they have a modified scheduler, network stack, whatever. But, the security+compatibility contract keeps a stable baseline on the Microsoft side. Controversial take, but if we enter this era where users are giving AI agents increasingly higher levels of access control; the Linux kernel is legitimately a poor fit. Think about it; answer the question “What exactly is this AI agent allowed to do?” On Standard Linux, it’s disgustingly messy with lots of overlap. Do you use UIDs? GIDs? ACLs? CGROUPs? Policies? SELinux? Filesystem modes? There’s not a singular coherent graph of capabilities you can point to. Too many ways you can escape an initially narrow scope. NT, by comparison, can go the route of explicitly typed resources, and then you could have these really strong centralized audit trails when an agent goes haywire…etc. I know I’m rambling, but the point is…if you were greenfielding an OS kernel from scratch, in 2026, with the intent of being forward-looking, it would *not* look like Linux. Frankly, it’d probably look a lot closer to NT, or even a BSD fork…

One PoW related concern for $ZEC : Equihash was meant to keep mining open. Instead we got one company shipping almost every competitive box. Bitmain owns Equihash hardware now. Z15 Pro / Z15K. That’s it. Old Innosilicon units are dead. Nobody else is even trying. Then a few big players just buy thousands of them. Fortitude. Cypherpunk. Same machines, same supplier, bigger and bigger fleets. That’s not “decentralised PoW”. That’s a chip factory plus a handful of operators deciding who hashes. $zec still slaps as money. Technically far superior to Bitcoin. Crosslink / TFL is supposed to move us off this. Hybrid then PoS. Is that actually the answer or just kicking the can? Genuine question.

so happy with the @Cloudflare job, ngl before joining I thought the motto “help build a better internet” was just another mission statement, but ppl genuinely care about it and about transparency, asking themselves “does this help build a better internet?” when designing new features/products, and holding themselves to high ethical standards, loving it 🧡 and PS: really cool announcements coming up next week 🎂

If Big Z wasn't also running a ZCL pump and dump and bragging about new investments into Zcash I'd take him more seriously. I've been massive allocated to Zcash for a while (no sizable dry powder to buy more). I bought a little PRL because I think it has long term and short term potential. That investment has done fantastically well but of course YMMV. I don't think investments are something to fight about like children. If your coin can't survive a holder allocating a few pct to something else it's NGMI. Very optimistic on Zcash btw!! Still over 70pct of my portfolio. Streisand effect here from people arguing with me about PRL instead of just focusing on how awesome Zcash is.
