“Brazil have fallen off! Jogo Bonito is dead!”
All true, but that’s not the main problem.
Look at Spain. Their team is balanced, there’s chemistry between the players, and that comes from having a stable core.
Brazil don’t have that right now.
Their core has Vini out of form, Casemiro and Danilo ageing, Raphinha being used out of position, and talents like Estêvão missing big tournaments through injury.
The solution? Fix the core and be ruthless. Drop players who are old or out of form and build around the right profiles.
Raphinha should be used like he was at Barcelona. If he isn’t playing as a No. 9, stretching defences with his runs, then use him as an inside LW like he did in 24/25.
Honestly, Ancelotti should take inspiration from that Barcelona attack.
Estêvão RW | Cunha 10 | Raphinha LW | João Pedro ST
Estêvão as the creator, Cunha in the Fermin-type role, Raphinha attacking from the left and João Pedro as the target.
That attack has the profiles, movement and balance to work.
Brazil don’t need to rediscover Jogo Bonito overnight. They need to build a proper team first.
