First and foremost, I want to give all the honor and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has blessed me with the opportunity and ability to play the game I have loved all my life. With that being said, I am proud to announce my official commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Westmont College! I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done for me. They continuously sacrifice for me and have always been my biggest supporters and cheerleaders. I also want to thank all of my coaches throughout the years for pushing me to become the young man and player I am today. Matthew Boughton is settling in nicely to Low-A, culminating last week when he was named Player of the Week in the Carolina League. In the last 30 days, he hit .276, with a .774 OPS, a .374 OBP, 6 extra-base hits, with 13 walks to 19 strikeouts. Boughton was an 11th-round pick out of high school in Texas, but quickly caught the eye of Sox brass. Several have raved privately to me about him. After batting practice, we talked about some of the mechanical changes he made to bring about the improvements at the plate. @FutureSox
