Right as Claire was closing up for the night she heard a whisp of paper moving across the floor.
She looked toward the front door and a letter was on the floor.
Claire had a puzzled look on her face and retrieved the letter.
It was addressed to her and the return address just said “Gram”
Her grandmother had passed five years ago to the day. How was she receiving a letter from her?
Everybody meet Claire and Carl.
Claire inherited a voodoo shop from her grandmother a few years back. She spends her day selling oddities to the peculiar folks that wander into her store.
She’s been in this small town her whole life. No real problems. She’s always enjoyed the quiet life and doesn’t want to give it up anytime soon.
The quaint shop sits on the edge of town and has a long rich history. Her grandmother always told her “The shop has withstood every test ever thrown at it. It’s served our family well. Please look after her and keep her happy.”
Claire didn’t know what her grandmother meant by keep her happy, but she was about to find out.
