How to do Andy Burnham’s consultation on gameshooting
It’s easy: email gamebirds@defra.gov.uk with the subject line ‘Call for evidence’ and write a couple of paragraphs about why your pheasant, partridge, duck or grouse shoot is good for nature. @BASCnews

Stories like Simon’s are what Defra needs to hear before the call for evidence closes on 1 November.
If they go untold, the habitat and wildlife that shooting helps sustain could be lost.

Defra’s call for evidence may be about game shooting, but as BASC’s Terry Behan says, that doesn’t mean deer managers should sit it out.
Terry has submitted his evidence. Now it’s your turn. Email Defra before 1 November.

🙌 Looking back on a fantastic week for wildfowlers.
From Westminster to Preston, it was brilliant to see so many of you there for Call of the Marsh, our documentary with @the_origins_fdn.
More private screenings are on the way. DM us to book in at one near you. 📍

Filming into the early hours to witness the iconic glass eel migration was a dream experience. Seeing them beneath ultra-violet light was extraordinary. We return in 2027 to capture much more. Yet barriers claim many lives. More must be done. Driven by instinct. Dying in silence
