It started over something small, but somehow, he managed to say the one thing that could ruin my entire day.
“You always make everything difficult,” he said before leaving for work.
I was furious.
After everything I did to keep our home running smoothly, he still had the audacity to make me feel like I was the problem.
I decided I wasn’t going to speak to him until he apologized.
No greeting. No unnecessary conversation. Nothing.
Around 2 p.m., while I was still replaying his words in my head, my phone rang.
It was my husband.
I answered, expecting him to finally apologize.
Instead, he asked, “Baby, I’m at the supermarket. Do we need milk?”
I froze.
MILK? THIS MAN INSULTED MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE THIS MORNING, AND NOW HE WAS ASKING ME ABOUT MILK? 😭😂
I took a deep breath and replied, “No, we don’t need milk.”
He said, “Are you sure? Because I remember you saying we were almost out.”
I was getting angrier by the second.
“DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!”
He went quiet for a moment.
Then he asked, “Okay… should I buy bread too?”
At that point, I nearly threw my phone across the room…
