Today I’m excited to share that @read_cv is joining the team at @perplexity_ai in their mission to make the world's knowledge more accessible to everyone. This is incredibly bittersweet for us, as the start of this new chapter will mark the end of our time with @read_cv. It has been an incredible privilege to put our whole selves into building this product and community over the past 4 years, and we could not have done it without your support. In addition to your professional accomplishments, @read_cv was our take at celebrating creative work outside of the status quo — digital gardens, independent film, zines, furniture making, self-published music. Today we are making all of your data available to export in hopes that it can inspire our community to carry the torch and build something new.

Over the past two months, my most impactful move as a design manager has been encouraging and supporting every designer to start building with Claude Code. Designers used to create a “source of truth” in Figma which was used for QA and accountability.. if anything was wrong, you’d point to the designs and say, “This is how it’s supposed to look.” The designers would take this artifact hand it off to engineers to build another “source of truth” on GitHub that would become the repo where other engineers can fork and build on top of. Now — the designer creates the source of truth on GitHub, and it’s closer to “the designs” because it is the designs. Less gets lost in translation, and everyone speaks in code. Figma remains useful for napkin sketches and quick visual experiments, but we are clearly moving beyond Figma as the primary document. The hardest part is getting set up—it’s daunting and scary leaving the things you love behind. People just need a little bit of emotional support to get started. But after taking the leap, everyone is feeling empowered and excited. They are all literally 10x’ing their productivity. The worst part is that engineers are a bit overwhelmed because they have way more PR’s to review.

We shipped a redesign of the Perplexity iOS app over the weekend. A more refined and focused experience. Some of my favorite details 🧵 1. Voice dictation: a new interaction and animation for the transition and listening state.

Earlier today, we launched a new version of our Perplexity iOS app, reimagined from the ground up and built with a lot of love. Swipe from the left access your library, swipe right to access Discover. Lots of intuitive gestures and motion. Can't wait for you to try it.

Amidst this week's @PerplexityComet launch, we also low key launched a new movies vertical to all of @perplexity_ai. Perfect for cutting through the algorithmic noise of other platforms and creating watchlists you actually want to watch - try "movies similar to parasite", or "movies inspired by Akira". Trailers, ratings, and streaming platforms are included inline so you don't need to bounce over to other platforms for that information. Give it a shot, it's available to free and all paid tiers.

It's such a joy to bring this new product and brand to the world, because it's full of novel moments. It opens up so many possibilities for experiencing the internet - do it yourself, delegate, or collaborate. This was a massive labor of love from everyone involved. I hope that shines through.
