i think we are just too quick to throw the โtribalistโ word around whenever it involves yoruba people, then change the narrative when people from other regions do it.
otedola supports tinubu - tribalist, heโs supporting is fellow yoruba man
obi cubana & co supports tinubu - heโs a businessman & strategist just protecting his business.
northern elites support tinubu - theyโve been paid, he promised them minister.
yoruba elites support tinubu - heโs a tribalist and he just want his fellow yoruba there.
mind you, lagos and ogun states are top 2 states you will find people from other tribes contest, win election and still be celebrated.

Immediately they know i'm Igbo,the next thing is oh Igbos don't have culture,aren't respectful,stupid yarns.

Typing this as if we still arenโt the most tolerant. As if some of the Yoruba folks on here arenโt still joining the non-Yoruba lots to speak down and attack their Yoruba brothers/sisters.
OMG you unlocked a memory for me, 90s and early 2000s thatโs how we were taught in school. Yoruba people were often used as an example of extremely tolerant group.
They were often the poster children for religious harmony had lots of friends from Muslim/Christian households and also inter-tribal households. I am saddened by the Ronu culture rotting through
