In 2025, Bayleys was appointed to sell 109 state homes, 20 of which had been bought from Mike Greer. Greer donated $21,112.50 to National in 2025

not fun facts: what established Trevor Farmer as a rich lister was his purchase of Telecom in 1993. He donated to Act in 1996 under his lawyers names and below the $10,000 threshold
1996 was when the threshold increased from $1k to $10k and also when Act first entered Parliament
Trevor Farmer and Mark Wyborn own Wairakei Pastoral. They opposed PC1 for years and recently the government stepped in to stop a court decision from hurting their profits.
Since 2017, they’ve donated $1,065,000 to the Coalition parties. Farmer hid donations in 1996 to Act.

interesting that the least popular new tax in the mix is the one new tax National is bringing in: congestion charging - which is also the one that would hit the most people and would be regressive
National always scaremongers on tax but not to the point of having no positive message
The data says this is risky
voters care about cost of living, health, economy. Just 8% put tax as a top 3 issue
Voters trust Labour more on tax
And they support wealth/inheritance/CGT taxes

good to see a cut to study tax.
student loans are a huge incentive to move overseas once you complete your studies (to avoid the 12% study tax) and then an incentive to stay overseas because returning is so expensive.
This policy encourages people to stay.
