finley shows good awareness and feel. reacts quickly to what he sees. lets go of the seam bc howell turn his shoulders outside and commits to his throw. triggers to the wheel before rallying to the ball.
side note: seems like macdonald strongly values high football iq players

Prime example of how not all great plays will show up on a stat sheet or be rewarded/recognized by advanced analytics.
Thomas breaks his own coverage rule to save his teammate from the biggest threat on the field. Very instinctual player.
As Karl Scott once said:
Think this is c6 mod? Pritchett running man principles and a rare situation where he gets beat out of phase vertically. Thomas should be crashing to the crosser but sees vert threat and caps the wr. QB wants to throw it but pulls it down and throws it away. High IQ play saves 6.

hand fights to keep leverage in phase and cuts him off from getting verticle, using the sideline to squeeze him out. wilson eventually gives up and has no chance to get under the ball so love capitalizes on the free ham & cheese promo

thomas lined up as a post safety pre-snap but rolls to deep half safety. shows great footwork to not overrun his primary threat and stay over the post route and loses his coupon to a free subway sandwich. devastated.
