Internal tools teams start with good intentions but often end up as either ivory towers and/or bottlenecks with the time as syncing innovations speed is not easy and the ROI is not there neither. Saw this happen a lot, especially in enterprise.
I'm glad they work to bust habits developed in other places. The whole 'internal tools' teams were a grift in some places (to me). PM for "internal tools" LOOOOOL.

True, that’s also one of the reasons, I guess, folks are so overly obsessed with harness / model / token consumption discussions.
This topics replaced the geeking out on the subject itself and gives back the feeling of knowing stuff better than all the AI normies.
The main problem with me is I am not learning anything anymore when I use AI.
The joy of exploring how to do something is gone, the joy of finding out a neat little trick behind some random thing in a programming language is gone, the joy of talking to people about it is gone as well. The only thing that remains is mechanical. AI may as well write all code but everything surrounding it, every little piece of joy is gone 😞
