I've been doing cut-out animation for over 10 years, the process has always been extemely slow, and a lot of people will say that its not even considered animation. Lately I've been exploring the tools on
@higgsfield_ai for most of the production side of things. It's crazy I can write a script, design characters by hand and have a full minute of animation in under an hour.
I know there's still a lot of pushback on these tools, but cut out animation was already basically slave labor, with most companies out-sourcing to third world countries for insane rates per minute of animation.
Now, as a 1 man army, I can focus on the parts that I actually enjoy in making animated shows.
Designing characters, world building and script writing without it taking me months to build the rigs and animate the characters.
I know there's tons of hate on AI, but as someone who spent years making tutorials for free, teaching people how to animate and staying on top of the latest tools so they can find jobs in this turbulent industry, it would be wrong not to show people that these tools can bring your vision to life at a fraction of the time and cost it used to be.
There's many things wrong in this episode visually, but the tech is growing at insane speeds and it's only gonna get crazier from here.
I do have mixed feeling about it all, big companies laying off artists, models being trained on our art without consent, and the many other scary things AI is doing every day. But this is the most fun I've had making videos in a long time.
Love it or hate it, I do think AI is here to stay, and I advice aspiring artists to dabble and play with some of the tools.
