Nationalism is actually about having a deep connection to the society — and citizens — that sacrificed before you existed. It’s about having respect for those that came before you and made this place to the shining beacon so many are willing to crawl across broken glass to enter. It’s about acknowledging the costs paid by others and NOT taking for granted the millions that have defended it in war. To give those gains away freely to foreigners is a betrayal of those that died earning them.
