The Damilola Taylor documentary has come out and it is pointed to a serious issue that resulted in the death of a 10 year old child. I think chalking up xenophobia to “disapora wars” is extremely insulting given the context.

As a Caribbean person ngl I agree. Caribbean, African American, Afro Latino & even Africans themselves are constantly trying to find subtle ways distance themselves from Africa or “Africanness”.
It’s so engrained though that I don’t think some ppl are even aware they’re doing it
