Every serious political party needs organisers who understand how structures are built, strengthened and sustained. That is the strategic value Rauf Aregbesola brings to the ADC. He has governed, managed complex political machinery and worked across both state and national institutions. His experience gives the party deeper organisational capacity at a time when opposition politics requires more than speeches and social-media excitement. Winning elections demands disciplined structures. It requires ward coordinators, local government networks, credible candidates, effective communication and leaders who understand how to convert public frustration into organised political action. Aregbesola brings that knowledge. His presence strengthens an ADC coalition already combining Atiku Abubakar’s national reach, Rotimi Amaechi’s executive record and David Mark’s steady institutional leadership. The ADC is not simply assembling prominent politicians. It is building a team with the experience to organise nationally, compete effectively and govern responsibly. The structure is expanding. The alternative is becoming stronger. 2027 will be a contest between continuity and a coalition prepared to rebuild Nigeria.

Malam Nasir El-Rufai must not die, disappear, or be broken under ICPC custody. This is no longer ordinary detention. This is beginning to look like a dangerous pattern of humiliation, gagging and calculated pressure against a man who still has rights under the law. The reported arrest of his personal doctor should worry every Nigerian who believes in justice. A doctor’s duty is to preserve life. Once a detained person’s medical access begins to attract intimidation, the public has every reason to ask whether the aim is still lawful investigation or something darker. El-Rufai is not above the law. But he is also not beneath the law. He is entitled to medical care. He is entitled to due process. He is entitled to legal access. He is entitled to safety. He is entitled to dignity. No agency of government has the right to treat him like a political hostage. If there are allegations against him, charge him properly. If there is evidence, present it before the court. If there are court orders, obey them fully. But do not turn custody into punishment before trial. Do not turn medical care into a battlefield. Do not turn state institutions into tools for political revenge. The speed at which explanations and press statements are flying around only raises more suspicion. Nigerians are not fools. When institutions act with unusual desperation, people begin to ask who is really giving the orders. And now, with concerns being raised about a possible transfer under unclear circumstances, the alarm must be loud and clear: El-Rufai must not disappear. El-Rufai must not be denied medical care. El-Rufai must not be moved in violation of court processes. El-Rufai must not be harmed under government custody. The ICPC and every relevant authority must understand that once a citizen is in state custody, the state carries full responsibility for his safety. If anything happens to him, excuses will not be enough. Press statements will not be enough. Nigerians will demand answers. This is not about whether you like El-Rufai or not. This is about the rule of law. Today it is El-Rufai. Tomorrow it can be any opposition voice, any critic, any former public official, any Nigerian who falls out with those in power. A democracy cannot survive when detention becomes intimidation. A democracy cannot survive when medical care is treated like a privilege. A democracy cannot survive when agencies of government begin to look like political weapons. Malam should be released. His doctor should not be punished for attending to him. His lawyers and family should have access to him. His health must be protected. His rights must be respected. If the government has a case, let it face the court with evidence. But if this is about silencing, humiliating and breaking him, then the whole country must speak now before silence becomes complicity. No Nigerian should die in custody because power became afraid of him. Release El-Rufai. Respect the court. Respect due process. Stop the political persecution.
