One year. From zero to the biggest builder community on @solana Colosseum Hackathon. Two weeks of The/Garage: late nights, workshops, 1:1s, pitch roasts, and a Demo Day that showed how far Brazil has come. Today, Brazilians ranks #1 in @colosseum hackathon submissions. Teams are raising capital and landing spots at Founders Inc, Alliance, YC, Colosseum, and The Residence. Behind every milestone are builders who kept showing up. Call me paranoid, but be extra careful visiting ANY web site in the next few days, as some web admins are not always up-to-date with security patches. Two vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) reported for PHP, the web programming language, affecting servers running popular apps like WordPress and Magento, with patches released October 21, 2026 after details leaked early. Exploitation was confirmed in the wild soon after disclosure, prompting quick WAF protections and patching by IT teams, as unauthenticated attacks could turn visited sites into vectors for credential theft or device exploits. I just wrapped up Token2049. This was my first one, so this is my take from a builder’s perspective: > Almost no builders. Crowd felt very institutional/corporate. > Bullish on Solana and Hyperliquid. Don’t want to sound like a Solana fanboy, but it’s hard not to be. Solana Summit was the best event of the week and they actually shipped news (Samsung Wallet integration + cool projects all around). > Innovation doesn’t seem to be the priority anymore. It’s about the best infra + distribution, and an appeal to TradFi. Less degen culture overall. > Floor was flooded with neobanks, card issuances, stablecoin infra and payment gateways. Most of what got showcased was more of the same. > Glad the overflow of random L2s and nonsense chains has cooled off a bit. > Prediction markets are by far the standout on consumer/retail. Still huge, and probably stay that way. > As a gamefi dev, the ecosystem doesn’t seem to focus on consumer apps/gaming anymore, and it’s not looking good. > BD meta is throw random merch and hire baddies to rep the booth. Also a decent number of straight scams or projects with nothing to show. > Not many VCs around. > Singapore was brutally expensive (Token + F1), but really nice place and everything works great.
