I've clearly done something to piss someone off cuz I've been here since 9, my client is out of custody, it's just a status review...but the clerk isn't calling me...... Should I beg for forgiveness for whatever I did? Or maybe bring homemade pie? 馃槶

I rarely say this about anything, but if you're making 300k and still living paycheck to paycheck, that's a personal fault lol
JUST IN: Nearly 4 in 10 workers earning over $300,000 live paycheck to paycheck, per Goldman Sachs

Don't defend this in my comments; they're literally in the top 5-10% of earners in the US. There's only one reason they'd be living paycheck to paycheck, and we all know what that is, because people say it about the bottom 50% of earners all the time lol

Misdemeanor obstruction is a silly charge. It should be a given that someone getting arrested is likely to be a dick about it lol

For 2 years, I handled strictly DV-related cases, and though it's been 2 years since then, more former DV clients call requesting me again than any other sort of case. Perhaps I left my calling too soon lol

Probably the take defense attys get the most flak over, but especially when alcohol, family issues, or multiple partners are at play...false accusations happen more often than most people would believe. And not necessarily always with ill intentions. Sometimes it just spirals
We don't actually have a good idea how often women lie about being raped. Short of a confession, very difficult to prove. But if you've defended rape cases, you've seen alleged victims contradicted by text messages, eyewitnesses, and physical evidence. Fairly often.

I suppose I should've * this tweet with the disclaimer that this isn't in relation to any specific case, and I'm not keeping up with what's going on in NY at all, which is probably why I was confused until a few hours ago why this topic was big trending again lol

The bad thing about living in a city where cruises depart from....is that people get picked up on extradition warrants trying to get onto cruises all the time, which has to be a top 10 worst ways to get arrested lol

Update, life is lifing the hell outta me, which unfortunately winds up backlashing on my ability to keep up with clients & cases. Only so many times & days "family issues" can smooth out fissures when custody is involved. Good news, I did manage to clear my desk and half my inbox

Literally have a cold sore on my face (!!) from stress. Thought I bought skin-colored bandaids. Nope. Bright white. Walked into court, deputy asks if I'd gotten into a fight. Metaphorically, yes & TY for reminding me I look ridiculous, sir. Ok TMI time over, everyone back to work
