Was away for two weeks and somehow missed the whole "mutuals are back" update 😄
Hopefully you're all still here.
Quick life update if we haven't crossed paths in a while:
- Still in NYC.
- Still doing Developer Advocacy, now at @DigitalOcean.
- Took 2024 off to travel around Asia and Europe with my wife and our then-2-year-old. Still one of the best decisions we've made.
- That 2-year-old is somehow a hilarious 4-year-old now.
- I still tell myself the LEGO is for my daughter.
- Been building way too many tiny Mac apps and Python automations just because I wanted them to exist.
- Still quote Seinfeld way more than I should.
- Still hoping to get back on a stand-up stage one day.

Just built this @dayone clone on Omarchy. Almost one-shot in 15 mins.
Would love to see DayOne come to Omarchy so it can support sync etc, but mighty impressed with what it was able to generate quickly.
I've got to admit, Omarchy hits you differently when you have it running on a machine your fingers are used to already.
I had it running on a Dell XPS 13 for a few weeks, and just never got into it as much as I have in the last hour running it on the 13" MBP (M1).
Been chiseling my key bindings even further to go faster.
Absolutely fab work from the @OmarchyMac team to bring this experience to the Mac.

The benchmark for a coding agent is no longer how well it answers a prompt. It is whether it can stay on duty when nobody is watching.
@amit built a Flask app crashes after a todo is deleted. Managed Agents detects the failure, finds the bug, writes a regression test, implements the fix, and opens a PR before the developer returns.
Observe → diagnose → test → repair → review.
This is the shift from copilots waiting inside a chat window to durable cloud agents that continuously monitor software, preserve context, take bounded action, and leave an auditable trail.

Alright. I am in. Got Omarchy setup last night on the XPS 13.
Bit of learning curve for sure.
But, it's pretty amazing how quickly I was able to reverse the scrolling on my trackpad to match my MacBook behavior - just by asking my agent with the Omarchy skill.
I wouldn't even know where to begin. Which file to edit, what the setting is called, none of it.
I can see what @dhh means by a desktop "malleable" to your desire. Having the ability to have AI at your finger tips "design" your desktop is pretty compelling.

Love this from @amit. "Repo Lens" feeds an entire codebase to Qwen 3.8 in one pass, then surfaces maintenance health and what the software touches. It even says “couldn’t verify” when uncertain. About $1 per repo on @DigitalOcean Serverless Inference.

It reads a whole repo for about a dollar.
dotenv, for example, ~30k tokens, ~40 cents. It tells me in plain English what it is, that it's actively maintained (which tracks, my friend @motdotla maintains it), and that it's low risk. A healthy dependency.

It's a local, open-source tool. Clone it, add a DO key, point it at a repo.
