When we say, “As a woman, make your own money”, it doesn’t mean you are immune to the realities of being a woman. It means you have more freedom to decide what you do about them.
Having your own money doesn’t exempt you from systemic issues, but it gives you options within a system that is already stacked against you.
Now I have another incentive to keep Drumming in your ears to Have money for raining days as women, And that means you will work.

My lawyer was someone over 30 years in the bar, You think that was cheap? I paid with my parents support. We were in court for nearly 18months, you actually think I could have run that without money?

Without money your transition and bounce back will be much more difficult but hey Each to His or Her own

If you work in advocacy, you'd realise that some women don't mind useless men as partners. They just want YOU to provide all the things he refuses to. Financial and emotional labour and safety. You think some women are in bad situations but they're actually users looking for prey
Before I got married, I accommodated a pregnant friend till she gave birth because she was abandoned by the person that got her pregnant.
She got a job and started paying little bills in the house and everything was going well.
One day, I traveled to see my father. A message dropped on my phone which says “ babe, please don’t come home today. I gave my baby daddy the home address and he is around” I was really furious after reading the text. I called her multiple times but no answer. I didn’t go home that day because I knew I would have done something bad.
When I got home the next day, I told her to leave my house immediately. She started throwing tantrums that I was just jealous because I didn’t have a man.
I threw her things out and told her never to contact me again.
I found out she moved into the guy’s house, got pregnant again and the guy left her to cater for the two kids.
She is carrying the burden till now and I’m glad she didn’t even bother to reach out to me.
