One big difference I learned moving from the south to the pacific northwest is that the idea of the gay/queer/lgbt+/whatever community is totally different. Back home, there were fewer of us so we had to stick together. Up here there's enough of us that folks get real cliquish.

I read on here recently that white people dance to the lyrics, so I've been paying attention to myself in the car. Drums on the wheel? right on the beat Awkwardly rocking out? Couldn't stay on beat if my life depended on it, just kept slipping back to the melody. Crazy shit.

The isolation is honestly not for everyone. When the kids were little and their dad was on the road with our only car, I'd go days between real face-to-face grownup conversations. Invited a couple of missionaries in once just because I was desperate for social interaction.

The job eventually ends up getting done by whoever cares about it the most, so your best bet is to divide labor with that in mind.
Idk who needs to hear this, but my best marriage advice is to just pick up his socks off the floor because you love him and want to do good to him and stop losing your mind over things that are so easily solved.
