Reuters - High temperatures and a lack of rain over the coming months are expected to deplete the harvest in Russia's largest grain region Rostov, the head of the local grain lobby group said after a farming emergency was declared.
...
Andrei Sizov from Sovecon consultancy cited the lack of rain as the biggest threat to crops in Rostov and that yields were set to decline [vs average].
"Overall, the situation has improved with the recent rainfall, but it's far from sufficient. The potential yield is below average," Sizov said.

Spring barely not thriving in the Vale but no problem, the market will adjust to the drop in (UK govt enforced high costs of) production and the price will rise to reflect this. That’s how markets work… isn’t it?
#harvest25 creeping up.
In readiness for our 4 harvest students arriving next month/early July we prepare these heath and Safety/information packs. Hopefully these will help keep all safe and well.

Flag leaf emerging on September sown wheat.
It's dry! Just 18mm since the 25th February.
No Nitrogen trial plot standing out.
Spring wheat and peas 🫛 looking well atm however not huge amount of moisture being pulled out presently, dry month forecast might change this!
