FINAL CGY - 2 ONT - 3 The Reign knock off the Pacific Division leading Calgary Wranglers in thrilling fashion, as Martin Chromiak scores the tying and winning goal in the 3rd period to lift Ontario to a 3-2 victory. Carter George was outstanding between the pipes, turning aside 24 of 26 shots and coming up with several key saves to help secure the win.

Martin Chromiak again! He takes the puck into the zone, and wrists one over the glove of Zarubin from the right circle. His fourth goal of the young season. First lead of the night for Ontario with 2:50 left to play in the 3rd. CGY - 2 ONT - 3

Martin Chromiak blatantly got cross checked right in front right of one of the referees, no whistle blown. About 20 seconds later, Kaleb Lawrence gets called for holding. A very soft holding at that. 2 minute power play for Calgary with 5:08 left to play in the final frame.

Kirill Zarubin has been insane this game.

Cole Guttman had a breakaway try on the penalty kill, but was denied on his backhand side. Franky Pinelli was there for the rebound, but the puck was sticked away right at the last second. Game still tied at the tail end of the 2nd frame

Cole Guttman scores his third goal of the season, this time doing it on the power play! Nice roof shot over the glove. CGY - 1 ONT - 1

Tyson Gross scores the first goal of the game, giving Calgary the first lead of the game for either team. CGY - 1 ONT - 0

9 minutes without a whistle in this Reign/Wranglers matchup. 14:16 to 5:18 Exactly 8:58 without a whistle. First media timeout. Wow.

Jacob Doty, of all players, nearly found the back of the net, ringing a shot off the near post on a quality scoring chance for Ontario. The Reign have come out with good pace, spending the majority of the opening half of the first period in the offensive zone and generating some early pressure.

Early indications are Kenny Connors will play tonight for AHL Ontario, as scheduled.

Love Joe (he used to train at the same facility I grew up training at), but this argument is so fundamentally flawed it’s insane. Let’s say Shohei chose the Dodgers for $10. That means Yamamoto would have to choose somewhere else for $10. So would Tucker, Díaz, Skubal, and every other superstar. THAT’S the entire point.

A couple seasons ago, you can hear Jeff and the Ontario Reign squad go crazy in the locker room when Mike was fighting Trevin Giles. Two years later, Jeff is with the Anaheim Ducks, and Mike just defeated a dangerous Joaquin Buckley to move himself into a top 10 spot in the Welterweight division. Awesome stuff.
