The finance world is becoming more programmable. You love to see it. An RWA paper (2026) argues the hard part is no longer just tokenizing assets. It’s maintaining programmable state across: → ownership → compliance → cash flows → collateral + and real world inputs.

A new HyperBEAM device landed this week called eth-client@1.0. It lets AO applications read from Ethereum. An RPC is basically a gateway software uses to ask Ethereum for information. Shoutout to builders @Lucifer0x17 & charmful0x.

You just want to sign into an app, right? Not have to set up a wallet before you can use it. HyperBEAM already has a way for tje service behind an app to handle the signing in the background. This update means those signed requests can be saved and found again easily.

So, in the past few days: ✓ HyperBEAM nodes are better at finding data locally. ✓ Better at preserving signed responses. ✓ Better at showing what background work is doing. All of this makes AO services easier to run, verify, and understand. We like the copycat.

HyperBEAM getting more updates with copycat 😺 Copycat can now save more Arweave transaction info while indexing blocks, so a node can find some data from its own local cache instead of asking a gateway again. Results in faster access, less outside dependency.

And s/o to @nickjuliano20, who also pushed updates to Lunar, the Arweave + AO explorer. This was more user facing: better AO/AR price fetching, cleaner AO balance reads, and a fix for scheduler message counts.

This week’s @aoTheComputer and permaweb updates: Getting HyperBEAM nodes onto the public internet, then making the activity around AO easier to read. Tunnels, HTTPS certs, explorer data.

AO is getting more of the pieces infrastructure needs. ‣ Guardrails for nodes. ‣ Safer service calls. ‣ Clearer message history. 🔍 And better ways to inspect what happened. The "legos" are coming together via @aoTheComputer.

What we're seeing in the latest ai debates and perspectives online is about digital self sovereignty. An architecture that provides applications, entities, and individuals to be empowered by ai, while maintaining control over what is done with their data & ideas.

AO & HyperBEAM work today moved the paid-service path forward. And it's fressshh 🌱. Accounts can spend from a refillable usage balance first, then fall back to @aoTheComputer payment when they need more. We're affectionally calling it piggybankOS 🐷 💸

Latest HyperBEAM work has focused on two practical things: +faster node reads +cleaner device package builds Important as its likely many @aoTheComputer services are going to be built from reusable devices and cached message data.

Some solid work this week related to @aoTheComputer and HyperBEAM (node infra!). Mostly about making services faster and easier to run. The main area: Arweave data. Finding it sooner, querying it faster, and packaging the pieces for rapid building. Details 👇

The poolcat can swim faster now :) Solid HyperBEAM branch work via @Lucifer0x17 today. When a service is searching for transactions by tag across a block range it can take some time. This may make those searches 10-50x faster on a small index.

It's a cat in a pool! Actually, it's an Arweave data discovery tool packaged as a HyperBEAM device. --> It helps @aoTheComputer nodes find newly posted Arweave data sooner. Being created by @xylophonezy, more about it below.

AO progress this week already has focused on making HyperBEAM (node infra!) more predictable during normal node operation. The updates include device handling, message processing, and replies.

And the progress continues :). AO’s stack is getting more clearly shaped. Machine specific pieces are moving out of HyperBEAM and into PermawebOS. HyperBEAM focused on the core AO runtime, while PermawebOS handles more of the “how do we run this on actual hardware?” side.

AO node infra work today improved how FORGE handles package metadata. FORGE is the tooling used to package and share features nodes can run without changing the core software. Enables smoother installs and more reliable node tooling.

PermawebOS alpha is cooking. So you can boot, inspect, and run parts of the AO stack more like your own system. Today's updates include faster setup and better monitoring.

We need adaptable compute. This means that if one service provider goes down, another can step in to serve demand. What happened recently with @Railway is challenging. And when critical infrastructure depends on one provider or one control layer, things can get weird fast. The @aoTheComputer marketplace is beginning to show it's strength. Yes, it's early. So why does AO matter… in real life? Let’s make it simple. You go online to complete a government form. You fill everything out. Click submit. Done. A week later… you get a notice: “You failed to submit. $1,000 fine.” What?! 😳

There's a lot changing and upgrading with @aoTheComputer. We thought it would be a great time to make a video and answer: what's it all about?

When you think about it, just about everything we use online is a silo. It’s kind of weird. Our mental energy (brains!) gets funneled through the platforms we use to do work. We compute in our own minds, then push that out into external systems. That’s a very close relationship, and we don’t have many places to do that external computation on our own terms. A bit precarious, right? That’s what @aoTheComputer is here to sort out :). A place where computation runs outside of platforms, across independent processes, instead of inside silos. Where results can be verified, not just trusted (h/t @ArweaveEco). When you step back, it becomes obvious: --> we already compute in a decentralized way. We need our external computers to work the same way. "The right to compute."

How to upgrade the internet: 1) Use HTTP. 2) Work with any blockchain. 3) Be decentralized by design. 4) Add simple, permanent storage via Arweave. This is @aothecomputer!
