what's really grim to me is watching people respond to fic authors' discomfort with legal arguments and tos policies as if what's moral should start and end with that. things like decency, consent, and autonomy are not respected by their own merit.

If an author asks you not to share their works elsewhere, the best response is โokay, will do, sorry about that!โ
