It's hilarious that a 3rd party AI bot accidentally spilled the truth about the vault business model
This accident disclosure just revealed what everyone in the industry already knows: the curator business model doesn’t work without someone continuously paying for integrations and LP deals.
DeFi was supposed to cut out the middleman. Yet with this model, you can end up stacking as many as five layers of fees: integrator fees, curator fees (sometimes charged both onchain and offchain as “consulting” fees to asset issuers), LP fees, and middleware fees (we do not expect it will be forever free, right?).
Unlike Web2, DeFi enables extreme composability. Eg if you are not on Amazon, you can not sell your product. But in DeFi, you can be fully integrated everywhere via smart contracts. In this environment, owning the underlying protocol and its economics can be far more valuable than the potential benefits of broader distribution deals.

I always expect a lot of friction to get anything done in crypto, at least a few hops and a couple of different apps, and more still if I want to keep the whole thing e2ee and actually in my own custody, which I always do
But not today
A friend of mine just launched EVE (@everstrat_xyz), and the usual convoluted defi experience was one click, eth in, eve out, and all of it from chatting with him to minting happened without leaving @ethstatus desktop app
It feels good to experience crypto working the way it was always meant to

The codename of the project was Macrostrategy. We called this session "Stream Zero".

1/10. It's time to get out of stealth and share the story of @everstrat_xyz.
TLDR: we gathered within @GuideDAO as a team and built everstrat.xyz - as a community first DeFi protocol for automated strategies orchestration.

9/10. We started having regular community calls and building the protocol in the open following the OG web3 and DAO spirit. We made a couple of changes in the protocol design and rebranded it to Everstrat or Everything Strategy as in Everything Bagel. Strategies are the interchangeable toppings that would go on top of the main protocol.
