Meet Brandon Lutnick (
@Brandonlutnick), Cantor Fitzgerald's chairman
@Official_Cantor /
@CantorRelief
Cantor Fitzgerald was founded in 1945 and today spans Cantor, BGC Group, and Newmark, with more than 16,000 employees across 30+ countries.
But Cantor's story is inseparable from September 11th.
The firm occupied floors 101 through 105 of the North Tower of the World Trade Center and lost more than 700 friends and colleagues that day, including Brandon’s uncle.
In the years that followed, Cantor committed 25% of its profits for five years to the families of those lost, covered their healthcare for 10 years, and ultimately distributed approximately $180 million.
Every September 11th, Cantor continues that legacy through Charity Day, donating an entire day’s revenue to more than 150 charitable organizations while athletes, actors, musicians, and other public figures join the trading floor.
25 years later, the mission remains the same: honor those lost, support their families, and never forget.
We caught up with Brandon to hear the story behind Cantor Fitzgerald, Charity Day, and what September 11th means to him and the firm.
We'll see you all on Charity Day this week 😉
