If you asked me why students reach for AI, here's what I'd say, and it isn't laziness.
In July, 98 teenagers from all fifty states sat in a replica of the U.S. Senate and wrote AI rules for American schools.
They passed them 82 to 16.

Now the harder half.
They banned AI on graded tests, and they protected the essay. Nobody in that session asked whether a graded test still measures anything.
"They wrote a better version of the school they are already sitting in. They did not ask for a different school."
