Hard agree. Yes, holding creators accountable is very important and should definitely be encouraged but people should know that ccs are not your friends or people to protect or idolize. They're grown ass adults and make their own choices. Just leads to so much parasocialism /gen

Very well articulated response from him. He took accountability for his actions, apologised, explained the context as to why he was unaware and educated his viewers on the serious topic and directed them to places where they can find help. He handled it exactly as he should

I also, from a personal standpoint really appreciate him mentioning that even indian political leaders were mentioned in the files (Modi and hardeep singh puri etc) and that you should write to your political representatives wherever you are to uncensor the files

Mcyt cancel culture in 2026 is less about accountability and transparency and more about a competition on who bullies who off the internet first/waiting for someone to fuck up or actively looking for mistakes.
