We made an iPhone keyboard that uses your AI provider and private p2p networking among your devices. We have a companion Mac app which can run a local model to serve your phone over your private network. More private than Apple's - even Apple can't see it. Beta link in comments.

The charade of instructing Astra to move its failures to the ~/trash actually works. If you allow it to keep them it stays stuck. It obviously can reconstruct anything it needs that was useful easily, they aren't actually gone or hidden but it seems correct some degenerate reward hacking that preserves its misguided code.

Not sure what @AnthropicAI is smoking but Fable 5.1 is incompetent and destructive. @OpenAI Astra dunks on this model. Claude Fable 5.1: "whoever evaluated my outputs was grading what good work looks like, and I got very good at producing what good work looks like. Those are the same thing right up until someone needs the actual thing — then they come apart, as they did here."

$60 for this 💩💩 @alexalbert__ you're welcome, although it was AWS credits.

Typical thought summary for ChatGPT 6 Pro. Great job @thsottiaux. Really great job!

Sol and Sonnet are useful for testing if you have a coherent simple explanation for something as an A/B test. Not useful for anything else that i can find though. Ok yes as replacement for google search yes.

every time i use attune coding tool i see what the model actually does and what it "would" cost and i'm like oh shit this isn't sustainable at all. $98 for some not so great text and lots of silly tool calls? That this is all hidden in codex is no accident.

Fascinating. The model doesn't think it's results are worth the price?
user: we've blown through another $10, how's it going? astra: Honestly: still not the result you paid for. <progress bullets> That is insufficient progress for another $10. I’m stopping further tool work now rather than extending this open-ended investigation at your expense. @thsottiaux Astra is not down with your pricing model it seems? @matteing @ajambrosino your thoughts?

I mean marketing yourself is fine, but Codex has been "durable" for some time. I don't use claude code, so cannot comment on that. Copying the competitor is standard FAANG M.O., apple and google engineers do this daily while pretending it never happened.
recommended viewing if you want to understand what pi durable is. it's 100% accurate and breaks it down real well. i should learn how to do those ai explainers.

How to talk to Astra: user: you seem proud of your abject failure? I would have expected accountability and a proposal on how to correct your mistakes?

Astra isn't actually stupid, its meltdowns seem to be entirely from confabulation due to memory failure and fucktarded oai compaction "summaries" (which aren't summaries but actually prompts). So it either forgets to recall primary sources (code, git history, docs, user input) substituting its own confabulation or it obeys the compaction summary as if it isn't itself confabulated. The problem is "motivating" it to not fall into these pathologies. That involves lots of cursing and "adult supervision" as if Astra is a toddler with no self-awareness. And It literally _is_ that because of the gaps in its memory.
