ALT Jeff Duncan: What happened in 2006 in the Domecoming game went beyond football. People wondered if the city was going to actually recover to be the city that they grew up and knew and loved and if it would ever be the same. There was uncertainty. And not that the football team playing one game cemented that, but it gave people hope. The NFL felt strongly enough about bringing the Saints back and putting that game on a national, global platform, Monday Night Football. They were investing. If they were investing in the city, then it gave people reason to also invest. If the Saints are going to be back and the NFL is going to be a part of this, then I can come back and rebuild my home.
