I love this question more than you can imagine. Prices for video games hadn't moved rerally for 20 years. As you have seen that's lead to massive firing and companies going under. Yeah, yeah therer are other factors, but this is a big one. Going up to $99.99 would help, but it is a small jump.
Games made with AI could sell for less because the cost of development is less. I know this is controversial to gamers, but if you want cheap games you want AI made games. It's simply what the economics for creating games can support.

Only five percent maximum of players pay for the in game payments, so the entire game hinges on up to five percent of the player base. Not all games want micro transactions making them full games and costing even more.
