Shawarma Time Food Truck PEI: "I don’t usually make posts like this, but after what happened today, I’m genuinely frustrated. I’m one of the owners of Shawarma Time, a small food truck here in PEI. We started this business, put in the long hours, invested our money, and tried to build something of our own while being part of this community. In the last few weeks, our truck has been vandalized three times. The first time, someone stole our electrical wires. We showed up unable to operate and lost around $1500 between everything. We replaced them and moved on. The second time, someone came back and cut the new wire. They didn’t steal it — they simply cut it and left it there. That’s when it stopped feeling like theft and started feeling like someone simply didn’t want us to operate. So we hid and protected the wires. Today, I showed up to open the truck and found that someone had cut our gas lines instead. At this point, I’m not looking for sympathy. I’m frustrated and disappointed. I’ve spent years in PEI, worked here, built friendships here, started a business here, and tried to be part of this community. PEI is honestly one of the last places I expected something like this to happen repeatedly. I don’t know who is doing this, and I’m not going to accuse anyone without knowing. But three times in a few weeks is difficult to ignore. We fixed it the first time. We fixed it the second time. We’ll deal with it again. But if this keeps happening, we may honestly have to call it a season early. There’s only so many times you can show up to your business wondering what someone decided to destroy this time. We’re just trying to work, build something, and be part of this Island like everyone else."
