Russia's aggression continues to inflict enormous suffering on the Ukrainian people. Civilians and civilian infrastructure continue to be attacked indiscriminately. And risks are growing day by day. Russia's aggressive posture poses a direct threat to European security as a whole. The immediacy of that threat was starkly illustrated by the recent attempted Russian drone attack on Leipzig Halle Airport in Germany, only 150 kilometers from the borders of Czech Republic.”

51 countries are united today in our support for Ukraine at the UN General Assembly. Since March 2025, Ukraine has agreed to a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire. We call on Russia to finally do the same. Ukraine wants peace. We want peace. Russia must stop its aggression, accept a ceasefire, and engage meaningfully in negotiations towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with international law.

The decision to delist Usmanov and Fridman is shameful and unjustifiable. Moscow is celebrating because it got what it wanted: a sense of impunity, the humiliation of the EU, and division among Europeans. But there is still a way to spoil the celebrations in Moscow. A vicious, deliberate Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia began last evening. Nine-story residential buildings, a university facility, a shopping mall, and a boiler house were damaged. As of now, five people have been reported injured, and some residents were evacuated. In Lozova, Kharkiv region, a woman was killed in a drone strike. My condolences to her family and loved ones. Three other people were injured. Overall, the Russians struck 10 of our regions in the evening and throughout the night. Russia is not backing down from its escalation and is sending many signals that it is ready to expand the war. All of this is happening as the stability of the world has already been shattered by this war. We must continue pressuring the aggressor to bring this war to an end. Every response and every long-range sanction is part of the pressure that is actually working, and the world can feel it. But diplomacy must work in parallel. At the UN General Assembly, we will discuss how we can achieve peace through joint efforts. This is the main task that all leaders should be working on. I thank everyone who is helping.

Our long-range responses had a very significant impact in the Moscow region last night. One of Russia’s key oil industry facilities and the aggressor’s logistics facility were hit. These are billions of dollars that sustain the war machine. The systems used included FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen, and Pelican. I thank our warriors for their accuracy: the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. Sanctions were also imposed on a facility in the Voronezh region. Moscow must end its brutal war and choose peace instead of building layered rings of air defense at the expense of other regions. Our cities and communities have been under almost constant attack since last night. In Odesa, rescue and search operations are continuing at the site of an apartment building damaged by a Russian missile. Thirty-seven people have been injured. The search for two more people who are still missing continues nonstop. All necessary emergency services are on the scene. This morning, the Russians struck a hotel in Chornomorsk, in the Odesa region, with a drone. Eleven people were injured, including six with limited mobility. In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed when a “shahed” struck residential buildings. Six people were injured. There were also casualties following a strike on an enterprise in Zaporizhzhia. In Kryvyi Rih, a missile struck critical infrastructure. Three people were injured, and one person was killed. My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims. Two more people were injured in the Kyiv region. Ten regions came under Russian attack last night, and Russian attack drones are still flying over many of them. Once again, the Russians struck ordinary gas stations in the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, as well as a locomotive depot in the Odesa region. Our defenders have shot down more than 200 aerial targets since the beginning of this day alone, but unfortunately, not all of them. And when the Russians so blatantly turn ordinary people into targets of their terrorist attacks, it is frustrating that the response from the world’s strongest powers does not match the level of Russia’s escalation. A matching response that truly has a chance of stopping the killings and protecting people is always a joint one. I am grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine with anti-ballistic defense. This morning in Kyiv, a Russian drone struck an apartment building. Four people were injured. As always, our rescuers responded swiftly, and the fire has now been extinguished. Last night in the Odesa region, the international Starokozache border crossing with Moldova was hit. Operations there have been suspended. Tragically, two people were killed and three others were injured. Sixteen people were evacuated by rescuers. My condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. Efforts are also underway to deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack in the Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions. Unfortunately, there has been too little response from the international community to these strikes, which are taking people’s lives practically every day. But a response is needed – Moscow must not go into the winter believing that it can get away with missile and drone terror without consequences. The aggression must be stopped here and now, before it spreads any further. And it is important that sanctions and support for Ukraine work effectively toward this goal.
