i don’t want to:
- work at a fast-moving startup
- rush design just to ship faster
- be corporate and toxic
- spend my days in meetings about work instead of doing the work
- work on things i would never put in my portfolio
- sell my time rather than expertise
- outsource my creativity to non-creative people
i do want to:
- work with creative open-minded people
- work with people who understand why design matters
- curate and spotlight genuinely good work
- build for communities i care about
- have enough freedom to choose what deserves my attention
- help other designers {you can insert suggestions in replies}
- make an impact on tech without compromising humanity

looked into component libraries over the week
here's what worked best for me
- ui.shadcn.com for base components
- shadcnui-blocks.com for simple ready blocks
more opinionated that I like

- which ones would you add?

additionally I set up a grok session that found all component library directories it could and I ask it to give me examples of a component I want
21st.dev got a lot of components where you can find a few good ones but majority not great and harder to get them working for your product

I've noticed there's a bit of a flex with mac.com email domains

biggest realization this year is I shouldn't have assumed agents will take care of the design system automatically
my goal by end of year is to have a fully featured design system out that can be used on any project I'm working on (hopefully helpful to others too)

one more reason I’m happily moving out of Portugal after 5 years is scammers
been getting lots of calls from random numbers for no reason
address and other sensitive data leaked by ctt and who knows who else
