Not many coaches win everywhere they go — Greg Heiar is one of them. I had the privilege of sitting down with the head coach of Trinity Valley CC to talk about what it takes to build a national-title program in just one year, sustain a championship standard, and lead with lessons learned from every level of college basketball. A two-time NJCAA National Champion and 2025 NJCAA Coach of the Year, Coach Heiar guided the Cardinals to a 34–3 record and their first-ever national championship. This one’s a masterclass. Coach Heiar drops plenty of nuggets.

Few coaches in JUCO basketball have a résumé like Steve DeMeo’s. I sat down with the Northwest Florida State head coach to talk about what makes the program special, the standard he’s built through national titles and Hall of Fame recognition, and the lessons learned from decades coaching at every level — from recruiting NBA talent to leading championship teams. We also discussed player development, academic accountability, and how Northwest Florida continues to thrive in the transfer portal era.
