Today in Maple Ridge I committed to bringing in new "Built in B.C. and Canada" rules for public infrastructure.
Trump's trade war reaches into the price of food, the cost of building a home and the paycheques of British Columbians. So we're going to become our own best customer. Every school, hospital and transit line we build will put B.C. and Canadian wood, steel, aluminum and cement to work first, with penalties for U.S.-made goods. We'll start with the North Coast Transmission Line: 70% Canadian steel in Phase 1, 100% in Phase 2.
The conservative parties have called on B.C. to "comply" with Trump, shared a map of Western Canada as a "Protectorate of the United States" and told Trump's ambassador they'd put American booze back on our shelves as a "measure of good faith." That's the direction they want to take this province.
I will never roll over. We'll build B.C. strong by building it right here.

#BREAKING: David Eby committed today to tripling B.C.'s campaign to recruit health care workers from the United States, a program that has already brought over 800 doctors, nurses and health professionals to the province.
For the first time, it will also target Canadians working in American health care, offering loan forgiveness and moving support to bring them home. Recruiters will focus on cancer care, emergency departments and rural communities.
The Conservative parties have called the recruitment campaign "an irresponsible, reckless, idiotic, waste of money" and say they would cancel it.

The Board of Directors sets out the Party's position on its leadership should Interim Leader Lorne Doerkson become Premier.
When Mr. Doerkson leads the Party to victory on October 24, he will remain Leader. The Board will pursue the appropriate means under the Party's Constitution and Bylaws and the Societies Act to give effect to this intention.
A Premier chosen by British Columbians deserves the certainty of leading his party. This amendment will provide it.
