the scheme is literally named annan seer which promotes marriage and dowry that are heavily rooted in patriarchy. and how would a gold ring aid the entire newborn expenses when money could be easily provided?
I can never undrstnd ppl living comfortably calling basic financial support for struggling families patriarchal. A rural family struggling to afford a wedding or newborn expenses, that support is real money and relief. Not every issue needs to be viewed from a privileged bubble.
