If you don't want white parents to adopt black children, then get out there and recruit more black adoptive parents.
Until then, it is often in the child's best interest to be placed with a vetted, white family rather than be subjected to the foster care churn. Or remain in a risky home. Should those kids have black faces and black friends and black adults in their world? Absolutely. Even better, stay connected to their kinship network.
But the answer is not to throw shade at adults who are re-orienting their lives to care for the least of these.
"Should white families adopt black children?"
This question was aimed at sowing division and placing race above our common human dignity.
Every adoption begins with a child losing their mother and father. That is a tragedy.
And yes, there are complexities a black child will face being adopted by a white family— we should talk about that.
But being adopted by a loving white family (as Kaepernick was) is better than languishing in foster care, where black children wait longer than anyone else, or dying in the womb.
Around 80% of adoptive families are white. Why not celebrate their willingness to do a very hard thing for a child, rather than treat it with suspicion?
We can all dream of a day when adoption is rare, families remain intact, and all children are raised by their married mother and father. But until that day, let's prioritize children over racial politics.

A new form of trauma is gaining popularity among female-dominated professions, including therapy, social work, nursing, and teaching.
“Secondary traumatic stress” or “vicarious trauma” describes the apparent “trauma” one experiences simply by interacting with others who have experienced trauma.
When researchers look at male-dominated professions, including policing, where officers frequently encounter victims of crime, they find much lower rates. One study of police officers found 90 percent scoring in the low range.
Apparently trauma is highly contagious, but somewhat selective about its host.

Living in squalor is treated as a sacrosanct right in California.
NEW: A flea-borne typhus outbreak is under investigation in L.A.’s Wilshire Center after 7 people got sick and 6 were hospitalized.
The disease, historically associated with earlier eras of poor sanitation, is re-emerging in L.A. County.
Health officials say fleas are the key exposure.

Your child should never be so afraid of YOU that they’re scared to call you when they need help.
Yes, there should be discipline. Yes, there should be consequences. Yes, your kids should know you don’t play.
But I never want my children in a dangerous situation thinking, “I can’t call Daddy because he’s gonna kill me.”
Call me FIRST.
We’ll get you safe. We’ll figure out what happened. And if consequences are necessary, we’ll deal with those afterward.
I want my children to respect me, not hide from me.
You can hold your child accountable and still be their safest phone call.

🚨NEW: Our critique of a major "brain sex" study is now published.
@AdamRochussen, @NeuroSGS, and I evaluate a central premise of gender activism and medicine: that trans-identifying people have brains that are shifted away from their sex and toward their "gender identity."
The "brain sex" concept is so central because it purports to provide an empirical scientific basis for the notion that a child can be "born in the wrong body" and would therefore benefit from body-altering medical procedures to align their body with their mind/brain.
The problem is that this concept is pure pseudoscience and propped up by deeply flawed methods and badly misinterpreted data.
One of the most prominent studies is Kurth et al. (2022), published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, which claimed that the brains of transgender women are shifted away from their sex and toward their "gender identity." The paper became one of the journal’s most accessed articles and has been cited in major media outlets, scientific papers, legal arguments, and policy discussions involving pediatric gender medicine and sports.
We point out that the paper's headline conclusion rests on a series of serious methodological problems.
Each group contained only 24 participants. The authors used poorly justified parametric methods, one-tailed post hoc tests, made no correction for multiple comparisons, and omitted important robustness checks. Once accounted for, the main finding is no longer statistically significant.
An even more glaring failure of the study was that it failed to account for sexual orientation, despite its known association with neuroanatomical variation and despite the authors having the relevant participant data needed to examine it!
We each repeatedly requested the anonymized participant-level data from the paper's lead author so we could independently evaluate the findings.
We received no response.
The evidence simply does not justify the sweeping "brain sex" conclusion for which this study has become famous.

Lila Rose asks a white liberal granny a pretty straightforward question:
What legal right do men have today that women do not?
After snickering toward the other snarling harpies in the group, as if the question itself were absurd, she proceeds to ramble about some imaginary “white privilege card” that white men are apparently issued at birth.
Then she pivots to the abortion pill - which women can still legally access in the United States, although the rules surrounding the medication do vary by state.
And that pretty much sums up the problem.
These women will scream that their “rights are being taken away,” and treat you like you’re stupid for even asking them to identify which rights they’re talking about.
But when they’re actually asked to name the legal right men possess that women don’t, they have no clear answer.
If you’re going to endlessly repeat the claim that women have fewer rights, you should at least be able to explain specifically which legal rights you mean.
And if you can’t even point to one example, you’re exactly the kind of idiot you accuse others of being simply for asking you to defend your own statements.

This, by the way, is how the Left will ban homeschooling.
They won’t draft a piece of legislation that says “homeschooling is illegal” they will just create a world where you can’t get a job or go to college if you are homeschooled.
They will force parents’ hands.
🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a 22-year-old who runs into BURNING BUILDINGS as a volunteer firefighter was told he isn't qualified to be a paid firefighter...
...because he was HOMESCHOOLED.
Then the city changed the job posting to cover it up.
His name is Andrew Coates. He's 22 years old, in Nebraska.
Right now, today, he runs into burning buildings as a volunteer firefighter for Cedar Bluffs Fire. He is a state-licensed EMT.
He is doing the job. For free.
All he wanted was to get PAID to do it. In his words: "Make a career out of it would be the goal. To get paid to do what you love."
So he applied to the Fremont Fire Department.
And in April, the city rejected him. Why?
Because his high school diploma says he was homeschooled.
That's it. That's the whole disqualification.
Not his EMT license.
Not his fitness.
Not his record.
Not his experience pulling people out of fires ALREADY!!
...how he was educated.
The job posting he applied to said "graduation from high school."
That's all it said.
He graduated high school.
He has a diploma.
And AFTER they rejected him, the city went back and added the word "accredited" to the job description.
His own fire chief, the man who has watched Andrew work, showed up to defend him:
"I feel the city of Fremont is really missing out here, and in my mind, because of his homeschooling, you guys are discriminating against him."
Over THIRTY homeschool families showed up to stand behind this kid.
And the Civil Service Commission? They said it isn't their job to touch city policy.
Homeschoolers are literally a generation of kids who read ABOVE grade level, who work with their HANDS, who volunteer in their communities, who show up for their neighbors.
And this young man is the proof.
At 22, he's a certified EMT and a volunteer firefighter, while plenty of his peers are on a couch.
When your house is on fire at 3 a.m., I promise you will not ask the man dragging your children out where he went to high school.
You will not ask if his diploma was accredited.
You will thank GOD he came.
Andrew isn't even fighting for himself anymore. His words:
"I think now it's turned into we want to make sure that every homeschooler has an equal opportunity."
That's a better man than the policy that rejected him.
Fremont, you have a licensed EMT and an active firefighter begging to serve your city. And you turned him down over paperwork, then rewrote the paperwork to cover it.
Fix this.
Hire him!!!!!!!
