Few minutes ago, I was quite sad. Nothing dramatic. Just one of those moments where your mind gets heavy and you do not feel like doing much. Then I played my favourite song. Funny how music can reach places words sometimes can’t. One song became another, and somehow I caught myself smiling. My problems did not disappear but my mood changed. Sometimes you do not need a big solution. Just a little music, a quiet moment, serene environment and a reminder that the day can still get better.

00:00 a.m. I was awake. The alarm sounded, but this time, I was not waking up for another ordinary day. I was waking up to a new age. And honestly, who am I that the Lord has shown me this much mercy? He protected me from battles I never saw coming. He made a way when there seemed to be none. He answered prayers I almost stopped praying. He gave me strength when I felt empty. He closed doors that would have hurt me and opened doors I could never have opened myself. And somehow, through it all, He kept reminding me that His grace was enough. My dad, family and friends, thank you for being one of the greatest gifts God placed in my life. So today, I am not just counting another year. I am counting the countless reasons I have to be grateful. Dear God, thank You for bringing me this far. Keep my dad, keep my family and friends, keep me, and let the years ahead be filled with purpose, peace, favour, joy and beautiful stories. Happy birthday to me.

At first light, I noticed this little flower beside the walkway, no bright petals, no delicate bloom, yet full of purpose. Its roots held in a verse and its presence supported the tiny ecosystem nearby. It reminded me that protecting the environment starts with allowing one small piece of nature to survive. Do not let good things perish under your care.

Closed from work around 3:30pm and decided to visit my aunt at Ojodu Berger. Lagos-Ibadan Expressway held us in one spot for almost an hour. Clouds started gathering, so I ended up TREKKING to Berger bus stop. Lagos traffic turned a simple evening into a long walk.

Stairs are part of my everyday routine, but they can become hazardous. Watch your step, use handrails, avoid distractions, and keep stairways clear. A little awareness can prevent slips, trips, and falls. Stay alert. Stay safe. Every step matters.

Nurturing a flower takes patience, care and consistency, just like building a strong safety culture. Give hazards attention, correct unsafe acts early, and never ignore small risks. The safe workplace you want tomorrow starts with the care you show today.

This morning, I noticed that a mop bucket was left in a doorway while someone answered a phone call. Five minutes later, another employee came through carrying materials. He almost collided with it. I quickly removed the bucket. Good housekeeping is not about making a workplace look beautiful. It is about keeping people and movement routes safe.

Yesterday, I walked past the general waste bin at the end of the day and noticed it was overflowing. Curious, I took a closer look. Cardboard, food leftovers, plastic bottles, and packaging were all mixed together. It made me realize something: the overflowing bin wasn’t the real problem. The real issue started much earlier with the choices we made when the waste was created. If we separate waste at the point of generation, we make recycling easier, reduce contamination, keep our workplace cleaner, and protect the environment. Good waste management does not begin with the bin. It begins with us.

As September unfolds, I stepped outside and was captivated by the sight of a beautiful flower blooming along the street. Plants support wildlife and keep surroundings looking good. A well-kept environment is usually a safer one too.

Yesterday, I saw this waterleaf and could not resist capturing its beauty. Beyond its vibrant leaves, it adds greenery to our environment and reminds us that nature’s simplest gifts can hold remarkable value. Happy Weekend.

THE TAP THAT NEVER STOPPED The cleaning team finished their work. The tap kept running. Nobody noticed. The next person walked past and turned it off. It was a tiny action. But multiply that small waste across buildings, days and months, and the picture changes. Environmental responsibility often begins with noticing what others have stopped seeing.

The Waste Hierarchy Not all waste management options are equally desirable. A useful hierarchy is: PREVENT REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE/RECOVER TREAT DISPOSE The best option often begins before the waste exists.

THE SMOKE DETECTORS: THE QUIETEST HERO IN HOMES AND WORKPLACE It only speaks when every second counts. Fires spread fast. In minutes, a small flame can fill a home with deadly smoke. Smoke detectors give the early warning that can save lives. Safety checklist: • Test it monthly. • Replace batteries yearly although many are directly into a home's electrical system. • Install one on every level. That small device can save a life.

Up to 90% of bad breaths starts INSIDE the mouth and often from bacteria coating the back of your tongue. That means: Mouthwash alone will not fix it. Chewing gum only masks it. Mints do not treat the cause. Instead: Clean your tongue daily. Floss every night. Stay hydrated. See a dentist if it persists for more than 2 weeks. Bad breath is not just embarrassing, sometimes, it is an early warning sign.
