lately i’m realising marathon timing is a function of sleep, mileage & nutrition
if i had to rank the three, i’d go -
sleep > mileage > nutrition
how much sleep is tricky to answer, but for me, the sweet spot seems to be around 6:45–7 hours. mileage: 80–120 km if you’re aiming for sub-3.
nutrition: high-carb diet + ~1.8g protein/kg bodyweight
